Greetings from the church office!

As you likely noticed in the bulletin and in worship on Sunday- this will be a full week here at Old Stone Presbyterian Church, with lots of projects moving forward.

This week the property committee will be gathering to consider the various options before us to replace the roof on the sanctuary. They will be preparing a report and recommendation for the Session to consider, and I’ll offer a report on their work at the congregational meeting on Sunday.

Speaking of which, on Sunday, June 11 the congregation will be meeting after worship and will be asked to affirm the decision of the Session to authorize the Trustees to complete the sale of the manse! Since the manse went on the market last summer we’ve know that a great deal hinged on this sale- it will empower OSPC to be debt free, help with the roof replacement, and (we hope) give us some resources to set aside funds for future capital needs/projects.

In this, as with all things, I hope that you will be in touch with your thoughts and your suggestions, both to me and to the elders who are working diligently on this project. Since my own arrival this past September, it has been awesome watching them work, listen, deliberate, pray, and lead. Old Stone is most blessed!

Rev. Anna

Greetings from the Sunday School Class led by Chuck Lewis.

Thought for the week: Christianity is not just a ticket to heaven, but a way of life that starts now and transcends death.
Last week's Old Testament Quiz: During the formation of Israel in the promised land what female became both a judge and a prophetess? Answer: Deborah This week's Old Testament Quiz: Deborah sent Barak into battle against Sisera and his many chariots. Deborah predicted that a woman would kill Sisera. Who was that woman?
Last week we began a new lesson series entitled "God's Urgent Call." We learned that the early judges were military leaders as well as judging court cases. We examine this week the call of Gideon. Background scriptures come from Judges and Psalms. Come learn about the strange call of Gideon at 10:00 AM in the Conference Room.

Affirmation of Faith The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen
